Committee Reports:

Fundraising; Chef Venne tells us about the wedding that our chapter is catering this Saturday. It was from the silent auction at a Romance Dinner.  Prep at The Sheraton West on Friday and early Saturday. 4:30PM serving at the church.

Chef Venne also tells us about an opportunity to volunteer for a People Serving People fundraiser at a Twins baseball game Barbeque. We need coolers for the ice cream, Chef Berg suggests Kemps for that. We need someone to donate Brats, Hotdogs, and Burgers. Sara at PSP is renting a big grill. Chef Berg suggests that we use the 100 LBS. of hamburger in the PSP freezer, and make patties from that. So we will need 100 Hotdogs and 150 Brats. Robert Velorde offers to donate the dogs and brats.

Chef Booth tells us that Helping Paws graduated Jack the dog that our chapter sponsored and he has been placed. He tells us that Beth was very happy to receive Jack, and she thanked the chefs of the ACF. There is a picture and a write up on Jack’s graduation in the current issue of the Food Service News. Chef Booth reminds us that September 9th at MCTC is the next Helping Paws Tail Waggin’ Buffet. There might also be an opportunity for some PR volunteer work at the Helping Paws Golf Tourney this summer.

Membership; Chef Venne tells us that we now have three new members and one pending.

Student/junior; Chef Schuster explains to all about the scholarships our chapter gives out, and tells the juniors present that hardly anyone applies. So almost everyone who has applied so far, has received scholarship money. If you want to be considered for scholarship money, YOU HAVE TO APPLY. Chef Schuster hands out a few scholarship applications. He also informs us about the sponsorship money that our chapter gives out to send two juniors to the ACF National Convention. So far only one AI student has applied for that.

Certification; If you want any information on certification, or want to borrow the study books, see chefs Rick Forpahl at HTC, John Cappellucci at AI, or Phil Gatto at MCTC.

Chef Cappellucci wants to do a Practical exam at AI on July 22nd . President Dwyer informs him that you must register with the national office eight weeks before the exam date.

Chef Castergneri also wants to do a practical exam at HTC in the near future.

Correspondence; Chef Jedneak tells us that the thank yous for the UP show judges have been sent. No medals have been sent because they have not been paid for yet.

Are you really ACF? Chef Conway tells us if any of us have an article written up about us in a news paper or magazine. Try to make sure it says ACF and we will get points for the chapter.

Competitions; Chef Jedneak tells us that the junior competition with be using Buffalo at the 2007 UP show. No word on the other competitions.

Chef and Child; Chef Good tells us he’s meeting with Chef Dan in a couple of weeks to set up the New Year.

President Dwyer tells us that there are many volunteer opportunitys available. You can go into PSP, Kids Café, and Campus Kitchen at Augsburg and maybe do like a knife skill’s seminar or something like that. If you have never been to Kids Café, you need to go and try it, its lots of fun.

By-Laws and Elections; Chef Berg tells us that we will be needing to elect a new Board and nominations will be starting at the August meeting, running for three consecutive meetings with the voting done the first week of November. The new Board to be announced at the November awards banquet. So if you want to be on the Board have someone nominate you, or if you would like to see someone on the Board nominate them.

Historian; We have a disc of pictures from the regional conference.

Old Business; None

New Business; Chef Booth thanks the chapter for the donation made to the Chef and Child Family tree, on behalf of his Brother.
