Committee Reports:

Chef Lund gives a quick recap on the 2006 regional finances.

Fund raising; Chef Venne tells us about a volunteer opportunity to help People Serving People raise some money. On July 28th Our Chapter will be cooking for a pre-game fund raising BBQ at the Metrodome with all proceeds going to PSP. It’s called “The Third annual Home Game to End Homelessness.” We need volunteers to go into PSP’s kitchen and help prep on Thursday the 27th at around 6PM. Then on Friday the 28th we will need people to help transport everything from PSP at around 2:30PM to the Metrodome and we’ll do the cooking there. All who volunteer will get a ticket to the game.

Helping Paws, Chef Booth tells us that everything is moving forward for “The Eighth Annual Tail Waggin’ Buffet” being held at MCTC September 9th. We will need volunteers to help prep on the 8th starting at around 3PM until finished, Then we will need people to volunteer whatever time they can on Saturday the 9th. We will be working at MCTC from about 7AM until 10:30 PM. So if you can only work in the morning or only at night or maybe just a few hours during the afternoon, we will take what you can give. This is our chapters biggest fund raiser and we need everybody to pitch in. You can contact Chef Booth at 763-218-6079 to let him know when you can help

Chef Booth tells us that the chapter will be meeting with “Make a Wish Foundation” to talk about doing a fund raiser with them. Sharon Gilsrud has arranged for us to meet with the foundation to come up with a Fund raising event that will take the place of our “Romance” fund raiser. We will tell you more after the meeting.

Membership; Chef Venne tells us about a membership incentive plan where you can earn money off of your membership dues. You can find out all the details on our web-site.

Student/junior & Scholarship/sponsorships;

Certification; President Dwyer tells us that there will be a practical exam at AI August 19, 2006 hosted by Chef Venne and Chef Cappellucci. They can handle up to eight examinees; so far two from Iowa are signed up. Contact President Dwyer or Chef Venne for an application.

Correspondence; “Snail Mail” to non-emailing members will be going out with a letter, updates and up coming events.

Our Chapter sent in the Herman Ruscht ballot, we went with the central region choice.

Website; We need someone to take over doing our website, if anyone wants to volunteer to do it contact President Dwyer.

Are You Really ACF? Chef Eisenreich tells us that he has downloaded the current criteria for the National awards. And our chapter needs to think about “Childhood Hunger Day” Maybe we could do a breakfast. It’s coming up in October.

Competitions; Some of the competitions at the UP Show were not sanctioned by the ACF. President Dwyer is working on it. When we know something we will get it out so “Please no more e-mails”.

Chef and Child; Chef Good tells us that school is not in session right now but in July he will talk to Dan and that he will try to arrange something for Childhood Hunger Day.

President Dwyer tells us that there are always volunteer opportunities at PSP, and at The Campus Kitchen at Augsburg College- you can go in there and teach his students a little something, (it’s kind of like the Kitchen of Opportunity). And of course there’s the Kids Café, contact Chef Good or President Dwyer if you want to volunteer.

By-Laws and Elections; Chef Booth tells us if you are interested in being on the board have someone nominate you, or if you think someone would be a good member on the board nominate them. Nominations starting at the August meeting and running for three months at our meetings. Voting takes place the first week of November with the results announced at the annual awards banquet.

AAC; Chef LaBeau and Paul Madsen should be going in.

Historian; Chef Schuster we’re always looking for pictures. President Dwyer could bring the laptop and we could show a slide show at a meeting.

Old Business; President Dwyer congratulates Chef Castagneri on his induction to the Golden Toques. And thanks Dan Salem again.

New Business; President Dwyer-Directory, Covers and the back page already sold. We want all of our members published in there. The deadline to enter is August 1st.

President Dwyer reminds us that so far everyone who has filled out an application for scholarship money has gotten some, we will still accept apps.

Motion to adjourn by Chef Jedneak second by Chef Good.

Meeting closed.
