ACF meeting at Concept 2 Bakery
Tuesday, February 17, 2004
8pm Chef Leon Hardeman brought the meeting to order.
President Frankie Jedneak thanked Concept 2 Bakery and Paul Schroeder.
Chef Frankie than explained that due to Chef Steve Schuster’s recent operation he can not finish his term as recording secretary on the board, and that Chef Paul Booth will be stepping in to do the job, as she appointed Chef Paul to the board as recording secretary.
Chef Frankie asked for committee reports:
---Chef Steve Venne stated there will be a meeting at Mystic Lake Casino Thursday February 26, 2004; as there are many cooks & chefs working there who want to join the ACF. That’s all.
---Chef Carlos Castagneri on certification, seven ready, on the list just waiting.
---Chef Tom Berg nothing on elections yet.
---Chef Steve Venne Romance in Bloomington went “Super” and he passed a sheet for people involved in Romance to sign. Chef Venne needs anyone involved in romance, not at tonight’s meeting to contact him and let him know. He’s at the downtown Double Tree Hotel. Romance took in about $5,200 at the door, silent auction figures on in yet.
---Chef Jeff Labeau offered Grand Market Place to host Romance next year.
---Chef Bo Kozak relayed that Chef Rob Yount is missing about 20 plastic pans and he would like them back or the chapter will be billed for them.
---Chef Bo Kozak Chef & child nothing for now.
---Chef Jeff Labeau Catholic Church in Faribault dinner. “I think May 17th,” the church will sell the tickets at $75 each, and there will silent and regular auctions. The church will split the moneys 50-50 with the ACF Mpls. He will keep us informed.
Chef Frankie asked for “Old Business”:
---Chef Bo Kozak's wife doing well after rotor cup surgery.
---Chef Andy Anderson US Show- Kate Hall called everyone competing. Everything’s ready to go.
---The question was asked “is anyone going to regional?” a half a dozen hands went up.
Chef Frankie asked for “New Business”:
---Chef Bo Kozak spoke on Chef Steve Schuster and said you can call him he is coming along well. He thinks he’ll be back to work in a couple of months.
---Chef Foix from Rochester chapter says Chef track classes coming up April 24th and 25th offering management refresher course. Contact him for information. His numbers are: work 952/758-1220 and home 507-364-5152. He also relayed awards dinner is coming soon.
---Chef Mark Carey asks about the status of the juniors. Chef Bo explains about the big meeting they had at the convention center, but pointed out Chefs Jim Lund and Steve Schuster were not present to elaborate on Chef Mark’s question.
---Cheri Peet asked if the chapter was promoting the ACF at the UP Show? She would be happy to organize a table, photos, correspondence, and stuff to help promote ACF membership. She also asked for pictures or anything, which might help in this endeavor. If you have such things you can contact her on her cell phone #612/10-9492 but you better hurry. She’ll need all items by Friday February 20.
---Chef Dwyer talked about beer being taken at Romance. But Chef Phil Gatto explained the situation and there was no harm intended. Just a miscommunication.
Chef Pat Conway makes a motion to close.
Chef Mike Strommer 2nd’s the motion.
President Frankie closes the meeting at 8:25pm.
