May 2003
Monthly meeting of the ACF Minneapolis Chapter was held at the Sheraton West and our host was Executive Chef Scott Beihl. Scott and his staff put out a dinner buffet that was outstanding. Thanks from all the members and officers. The evening educational program was on uniforms by Culinary Classic.
The Vice President Michael Cielinski and the Midwest V.P. Chuck Chase did a great job informing us on all the difference between materials and the quality of their products.
Officers in attendance for the meeting were Frankie Jedneak, Chris Dwyer, Steve Schuster, Leon Hardeman and Jim Lund. Meeting called to order at 8:04 PM. Introduction of at present.
Committee Reports First topic was junior members and our chapter. We had much discussion throughout
The room and after about twenty minutes of this Frankie said we need to setup a plan and fellow it. Some of the suggestion were same night meetings as active members and having one person as an advisor from the active membership. We need a plan and they will join.
Next Committee report was Jeff LaBeau and the fund raiser with Consolidated Catholic Schools in Faribault
At the Country Club. Jeff said we raised around nine thousand dollars for the club. Andy Anderson presented awards from the culinary competition during the Up Show. Frankie then passed an article and photos form the culinary review with our chapter and the chef and child fund raiser we did nice job. We need all the national press we can get.
Old Business Helping Paws Scott Beihl and Paul Booth reported that we still need to secure a date in Sept.
For this fund raiser. In August Helping Paws is having a gulf tournament and fund raiser and would like our chapter to sponsor a hole for the outing. Bob Menne gave a report from the NRA show Salute to Excellence. Bob had two student that received awards they were Lora Retterath and Todd Rist.
Carlo invited all the members that knew Michael Jung to a surprise retirement party June 5, at 2pm.
In the Gourmet dining room at HTC NORTH campus.
New Business the 2006 regional conference. There are other chapter still in the running for the bid. We need to set dates and this all depends on the other regions and their schedule. They require 10 business days between conferences. The plan is to get this all together before the national conference.
Jim Lund would like the chapter to have a family and all day picnic maybe at Baker Park or French Park
He will keep us posted on the possibilities. Pat Conway made a motion to adjourn and seconded by Mike Strommer.
Respectfully submitted
