MINUTES OF THE ACF MEETING
SEPTEMBER 25, 2001
--The meeting was called to order at 8:05 PM. Self introductions were done.
We thanked our hosts Chris Dwyer and MCTC for having the meeting. Thanks to
Tim and Tim from Juhl brokerage for the food. We had a swearing in of new
junior members. Congratulations to all!!
COMMITTEE REPORTS
--AAC--We will be sending to new people to this next year in Las Vegas. They
will be Carlo C. and Mike Strommer. Congratulations to Bo Kozak on his
induction into the AAC.
--WEB SITE -- Jim is setting up a board page so members can contact the board
with questions they might have. Jim would like input from the members on
things they would like to see on our page. He also wants to do a Question
and Answer page for the Juniors.
--FUNDRAISING--Helping Paws is Saturday Chef of the Brigade is Chris Dwyer.
He will be contacting people as to times and duties. Jeff La Beau will be on
KARE 11at 10:00 am Sept. 26 to promote this and also the ACF.
--HARVEST OF THE HEART--We will be doing the same menu that we will do for
Helping Paws. Jeff and Carlo will be going over the final details with
Katie. Please sign up to help. The money raised goes to help fund youth to
go to South America to help rebuild towns.
--We lost some ACF chefs in the World Trade Center. Bo made a motion to go
thru Terry at the national office to send money to help these families. The
motion was seconded by Chris. Passed.
--CERTIFICATION -- Byron Korus recently received his CCE. Congratulations
Byron!
__ CULINARY SALON -- This will be part of the UP Show. The dates are
February 3.4 and 5, 2002. Hospitality Minnesota is one of the sponsors along
with American Fish. The competitions will be sanctioned by the ACF. The 1st
day will be a competition in which the top 3 finalists will go on the next
day to an Iron man Mystery basket competition. The 2nd day will also be the
judging of the salon. On day 3 will be the Junior hot food competition. Stay
tuned for more details. A packet is being put together with details, rules
and registration.
--A motion was made for each chapter to hold their own Chef of the Year
dinner. Each winner will then be honored at a joint dinner at the 2002 UP
Show. Motion made by Chuck, seconded by Jeff. Motion passed.
-- The ACF Awards banquet for the Mpls. chapter will be held at Rush Creek.
