General Meeting Notes

Called to order by Sergeant at Arms Chris Struzl at 8:02

Rino Baglio from Pazzaluna back from Italy where he competed and won 2 gold medals and a silver medal

Self Introductions – 2 Board Members present

Chris Struzl said Pledge of Allegiance and did a Moment of Silence

Chris Struzl sworn in Jordan Grifford (?) from Doubletree and Hennepin Tech

Committee Reports

Fundraising – Carlo

  • Fundraiser for a Catholic Church $100 per person for up to 150 people. Butler passed appetizers and Dinner starts at 7:04 exactly. This fundraiser is on April 26th. It is a 50/50 split with the church.
  • Working on another fundraiser with Jenny Peterson, formally from Helping Paws, now with Minnesota Link. This group works with special needs children and young adults by encouraging their relationship with  animals to help them work through their challenges....

Fund raising Committee:

Carlo Castagneri talks about the fundraiser at the Holy Child Hood Church. Which will be on April 26th 7:00Pm the cost is $100/ticket and the profits will be a 50/50 split with the church. So far there are 175 people signed up. Anyone that wants to help out should contact Carlo. We are also working on another fundraiser with MN Link which will be October 11 or the 18th.

Guest Speaker: Sarah from Psp is no longer with Psp and is with American Heart Association in Minneapolis.  She talked about February 1st will be "Go Red" which means that everyone should wear red to support 1 out of 3 women will die of heart disease. Then she talked about the National Program which will involve 12 chefs creating a heart themed meal and as it gets closer she will tell a bit more about it.

Sharon Gillsrud talks about the Pastry Seminar.

The Pastry Professionals Association is proud to provide an educational experience with instructors that are known for their expertise in the field so chefs can receive the additional training they want. Pastry Seminar 2008 will be held Sunday, March 30 through Tuesday, April 1, 8AM to 5 PM at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. Each day's schedule...

Childhood Hunger Day

Chef & Child "Child Hunger Day Event"

*_*If you would like to help with the Child Hunger Day event we are
looking for committee volunteers to help with some of the following:
*Organizing and packing supplies for schools
*Media releases
*Recruiting chapter members for demonstrations
*Preparing certificates and recognition for schools

We will have a meeting on _Weds., Sept. 12, 2007 at 7:00pm_ at Champlin
Park High School in Room 113.
The school is located one mile east of Hwy. 169 on 109th Ave. in
Champlin/Brooklyn Park.  Enter by the school sign and come in Door E3. 
Room 113 is located on the north end of the building.

So far Frankie Jedneak, Bo Kosak, Jadie Laska, Bill Lendway, Pat Conway
and a few others have indicated their interest in helping with this
event.
